You know, I need new work boots ...
May. 27th, 2005 05:04 pm... and when I saw these I nearly pissed myself laughing, but now a tiny part of me is trying to persuade the sensible part that they do actually meet most of my criteria ... and they'd be mostly hidden ... and the blue boots that I have at the moment are knackered and I think the sole is about to crack ... and ...

There was another pair that were plainer and almost reasonable, except the heel was much too low for my work trousers. I really don't think I'll be able to find work boots which are neither flat, nor cowboy boots, nor stilettoes.

Or alternatively you could always get existing footwear resoled.

Date: 2005-05-27 04:31 pm (UTC)Sorry, but I have a real aversion to cowboy boots...

Date: 2005-05-27 04:39 pm (UTC)I'm starting to think cowboy boots might be the lesser of all those evils, especially since under trousers they mught barely be identifiable as such ...
Although I share your concerns. :(

Date: 2005-05-27 04:46 pm (UTC)This has just become my favourite ever comment on stilettos. So true...
I appreciate your problems, although my personal bug-bear is those shoes with stupid thin 'heels' right at the back of the shoe (rather than directly under the ball of the heel), which look as though they're about to snap off. We many have had this conversation before, in fact, since I rant about it at every opportunity.
I have found that very persistent searching unearthed some reasonably-heeled smart shoes, at least in Belfast. But it sounds like you're near the end of your searching tether...

Date: 2005-05-27 04:58 pm (UTC)Those are genuinely terrifying. Why do you need blue boots specifically for work, other than that blue is clearly your colour of choice?
I should mention, as an ex-owner of cowboy boots (I was young and foolish), the heels do wear down frightfully quickly, which always prompted me to get quarter-steels nailed on to the back of the heel. Which is fine until you walk on a slippery surface. If surfaces at your place of work are slippery, you;ve been warned...

Date: 2005-05-27 05:51 pm (UTC)I don't really need blue boots for work, but I can't find any work boots I like, and I figure if I'm going to buy boots I don't like, they may as well be blue. (Warped. That's the way I like my logic ...)

MUST BUY!!
Date: 2005-05-29 10:10 am (UTC)1. they are sparkly
2. you'd look like sex on legs in those and a micromini skirt! (and stetson)
3. they'd go well with whips
4. they are blingbling!
5. you deserve new boots!
6. you can get away with them!
7. youve earnt them!
8. you could be wearing sandals instead.
alternatively, have you tried the new rock cowboy style girl boots with metal heels? they might suit, if you dont find the toes too pointy.
