Baby, it's cold outside!

kanttiBrrrrr. Stayed late at work working on my MSc assignment (due Tuesday, ulp), then cycled home. Then regretted it once I realised how cold and head-wind-y it was. I don't like cycling late at night in the country lanes because I always worry (possibly irrationally) about getting raped and killed, but a girl's can't let her life be ruled by fear of dark places.
In other news:
Help, I'm a meme-lemming. :) I think these are things I'm unique in doing among my friends-list ...
I was scraping the barrel with some of them and I still only got to nine.
1. Cycled across the Severn (on a bridge, not on the water, of course) and from Oxford to Reading.
2. Been first author on a paper in Physics Review Letters. It was just the once, and I didn't really deserve to be first author, but I was still chuffed.
3. Made chocolate yorkshire puddings (as one does), but substituted finely milled oats for flour. Didn't notice the mistake until halfway through sampling the first one.
4. Read Sade'sJustine in the orginal.
5. Been so rubbish with names and faces that I saw an ex talking to a friend three weeks after we'd split up and asked her who he was.
6. Been let out of the office to represent my rather big, rather corporate, employer while sporting blue dreads and facial piercings. Only to talk to students and academics, who don't really count, mind ...!
7. Been utterly defeated by the ukelele in music class.
8. Owned a classic car.
9. Built a machine for jiggling breasts in order to detect breast cancer. Serious academic research, it was, too. In a hospital and everything. And no, I didn't have a struggle with the giggles every time I talked to my supervisor. Honest.
