... to buy new boots for work. Wearing sandals to work was possibly OK in the summer, but I'm thinking it's not a great plan for the winter. And I snapped the heel of my last pair of boots, and wore the heel-cap off the previous (blue!) pair in three weeks.

Buying work boots is always just a little depressing, isn't it? You'd so much rather be spending the money on something which looks cool, rather than something a secretary might wear.
